VCDCO had the honor of creating a new identity for the Clay Hunt Fellows Program – a selective 6-month, paid cohort designed to equip veterans with tools to help redefine and refine their purpose and identity, as they transition into civilian life.

CLAY HUNT (1982-2011)

Dedicated to Clay

Clay Hunt was a Marine veteran and one of the original Team Rubicon members who responded to the disaster caused by the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. A close friend of Team Rubicon cofounder Jake Wood, Clay always strived to serve those who needed help, despite his ongoing inner struggle with PTS. Ultimately, Clay took his own life in 2011.

To honor his legacy of service and to provide other veterans with what Clay did not have, Team Rubicon founded the Clay Hunt Fellows Program to support and lead Greyshirt veterans toward the accomplishment of their professional and personal goals.

The new CHFP Symbol

For the symbol we had several points of inspiration:

  • A journey: that isn’t always easy or linear to follow.

  • The chevron: in reference to Clay's and Team Rubicon's military heritage.

  • Mountains: where Clay went for inspiration and a metaphor for the challenges in our lives we strive to overcome.

  • Direction: because we all have a purpose
